The Truth No One Tells You

When you start a project or business, your first thoughts are:

“I want to do it right.”
“I want to be efficient.”
“I want it to work.”

And everyone tells you the same thing – You need a plan.

The Wake-Up Call

2 years ago, I closed an eight-year chapter of working for “others.” There’s nothing wrong with that if what you value is stability. If that’s what you want, that’s probably your place.

But for me, there was always this voice inside, telling me to build something of my own.

So I took the leap.

A blank page. A fresh start. My own path to write.

I had a clear goal – Maximize Human Behaviour.

I left my corporate job in May… and until October (nothing happened).

6 months (Half a year) and that’s when I learned the truth no one tells you.

The biggest mistake

Stop Preparing. Start Now.

Let’s cut to the chase.

You’re not making progress because you’re stuck in endless preparation.
And you haven’t done anything about it.

That’s why we need to talk about this “5 key concepts” – to break free from the cycle of preparation and start making real progress.

1) Preparation Is Not Progress

Preparation (feels) productive. But it’s not.

  • You make to-do lists.
  • You build marketing plans.
  • You fill spreadsheets with goals.
  • You binge courses and podcasts.

But at the end of the day… Nothing has changed.

Dreaming and re-thinking about your project isn’t working on your project.

So how do you flip the situation?

Forget what you’re supposed to do. Forget how you were taught to start a project.

Shift your focus.

If your focus is on preparation instead of execution, you’re just pressing the snooze button on your own success. The perfect plan won’t save you. The only way forward is action.

100% prepared = 0% progress.

2) You Already Have Everything You Need

You think you need more knowledge before you start. You don’t.

Your obsession with feeling “ready” is just fear disguised as productivity. And that fear is the only thing standing between who you are now and who you could become.

How do you keep moving when facing uncertainty? You keep moving.

Think about this: if you were lost in the middle of a mountain, what would you do?

Would you sit and wait, hoping that someone finds you? Hoping that something magically happens to give you clarity?

Or would you keep walking toward a point of reference, following anything that gives you a clue about what to do next?

The path

Write this down:

Movement – Clarifies – Direction

If you are stuck (Sitting and thinking about it won’t work)

Instead, try this:

Stop waiting for motivation – Just start.
Stop planning every detail – Figure it out as you go.
Stop searching for the perfect method – Pick one and execute.

3) Action > Overthinking

Overthinking is the weapon of the perfectionist inside you.

Everything happens in your head while reality stays the same.

You keep telling yourself it’s not good enough (which means you’ll be waiting forever).

There will always be room for improvement. If that’s the reason you keep postponing action, let me tell you this:

You never start because you believe you need the perfect “first step”. You don’t.

You just need to take (any step).

When perfection gets you stuck:

  1. Make a “bad plan” – Something simple, actionable, and imperfect.
  2. Execute immediately – You’ll quickly see why it sucks and improve it along the way.
  3. Commit to the process (Not the outcome) – Success isn’t a single moment. It’s showing up, every single day.

4) Confidence, Competence, Resilience

THEY ARE BUILD, NOT GIVEN!

CONFIDENCE

Isn’t something you’re born with. It’s built through repetition.

Your lack of confidence won’t disappear behind “Endless Preparation”.

Hiding in the shadows doesn’t protect you. It only reinforces self-doubt. And self-doubt leads to paralysis.

When uncertainty overshadows the path, take action.
(Any action is better than no action.)

Imperfect actions

COMPETENCE

Comes from experience, not endless study.

You can’t understand it unless you:

Live it.
Feel it.
Smell it.
Touch it.

And to do that, you need to take – the leap.

Postponing actions

RESILIENCE

Is earned by pushing forward, no matter what.

It’s like lifting weights—the more reps, the stronger you get.

Don’t wait for motivation (It’s unreliable and sporadic)

Consistency

Instead, build discipline.

Show up even when you don’t feel like it. Take action despite doubt. Progress isn’t about waiting for the right moment —it’s about creating momentum through consistent effort.

The most successful people (don’t wait for inspiration).
They show up – No matter what.

Be like them.

5) The "Do It Anyway" Framework

If you’re waiting to feel ready, you’ll never start.

Use this instead:

Do it scared – Fear means you’re growing. That’s a good thing.
Do it messy – Perfectionism is procrastination in disguise. Just start.
Do it small – Big goals are overwhelming. Shrink them down.
Do it again – Repetition is your secret weapon.

(Or as Nike says: Just do it.)

And that’s how you break free from the cycle of preparation.

If this resonated with you, take it as a sign—your time to start is now.

Steal them, use them, live by them—soon, you’ll have to pause just to realize how far you’ve come in so little time.

The 7 Amendments for Taking Action:

  • The only way forward is action.
  • You don’t need more time.
  • You don’t need more knowledge.
  • You don’t need permission.
  • Progress comes from doing, not thinking.
